Rt. Hon. Leke Joseph Abejide is a Nigerian politician, businessman and legislator who represents the Yagba East, Yagba West and Mopamuro Federal Constituency of Kogi State in the House of Representatives. He was first elected to the National Assembly in 2019 and secured re-election in 2023, giving him the opportunity to serve the constituency for a second term.

Born on 8 May 1975, Abejide hails from Alu in Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State. His background and upbringing have remained closely connected to Yagba and the wider Okun community, a connection that has continued to shape his public and political career.

Abejide has an academic background in economics and business administration. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and subsequently earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Bayero University, Kano. His educational background, combined with his experience in the private sector, has contributed to his interest in economic, commercial and development-related issues.
